A portfolio, finally

I finally bothered to do it.

Years ago when I first started posting my work online, I treated Instagram like it was my portfolio. I refused to post anything other than photos of finished projects, and I was wary to share any of my process.

That has changed drastically. Starting in early 2024, I began posting pretty much anything and everything all the time. Most of this had to do with the fact that I was writing a book and needed to promote that. Internet points are also super fun to rack up until you think about it too much.

I’m glad that I changed my posting habits — you undoubtedly wouldn’t be reading this or even know who I am if I didn't. Putting out more process-based and educational videos has landed me a ton of opportunities and helped me out quite a bit.

But it also turned my Instagram into a mess. There’s just no distinction between finished work, educational videos, or works in progress.

Normally, I wouldn’t care about this kind of stuff. Portfolios are for artists and I’m weirdly hesitant to identify as such. But it makes my daily life a pain in the ass. I’ll often find myself referring to pieces I’ve made to demonstrate something without any good way of actually showing it. There’s been a few conversations where I’ll scroll mindlessly through my feed or Photos app only to give up in frustration.

So I finally took the time to go through the thousands of photos I’ve taken over the years and put together a proper portfolio. I have everything arranged by type and it has pretty much everything I’ve made since 2018 on there.

I know this is very much a Thing for Albert That Nobody Cares About, but I wanted to share in the off chance you like my work and are looking for inspiration. As always, if you have any questions about anything you see, just let me know.
